WORKING AS SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE AS POSSIBLE

MATERIALS

The house we call Brücke 49 used to belong to the Valser family, Furger. It is build from 1900 to 1902 from local materials being stone, Valser granite and wood. All floors above the basement are made of wid, solid wooden planks. The walls are made of stone. The windows are of the old summer/winter type. The roof is made of huge granite slabs that will last more than a lifetime. The textiles and linen we produce ourselves of fine handmade linen. Duvets are all anti allergic. Bedlinen are all handmade from linen.

We never buy the easy and cheapest products. We believe it is much more economical and sustainable to buy wellmade products in a good quality in terms of design and materials as they will last a lifetime that kepp buying and throwing things away.

THE FOOD WE SERVE

We make everything by hand and heart ourselves. We bake the bread fresh every morning. We make marmelades from the berries in our garden.

We buy from people we know and trus. The diary products come from farmers whos cow all have names, which we think explains the close realtion between animal and humans in the valley. The water from the tab is pure spring water. The eegs is brought to us fresh twice a week from Kasper´s and Irene's chickens. The honey brings Pius from his hives way up in the mountains above Vals. The fruit and vegies comes fresh every day.

All other products are bought from "Bio-or farmshops". Wine comes from "The B¨ndner Herrshaften" only a 60 km from Vals.

THE ENERGY WE USE AND WASTE WE PRODUCE

Our houses are heated partly by firewood locally sourced. Partly by electricity which is made at the hydropower plant (Zervreila)at the end of the valley. We support "Pro Natura" and the part of "Fundation Franz Weber" that give animals in distress a helping hand.

THE PEOPLE WE LIKE TO WORK WITH

We hire locals. Mountain people that know the best places to go. Everyone works from the same basis and are given education and trust for them to be able to do their job as they see fit. That way we also learn and get better over time.
